Calling all those who might be interested in residing in ‘Our Town’

Whether you’re a current or past member, or haven’t yet jumped on the boards with FADS, how do you fancy being part of Thornton Wilder’s ‘Our Town’?

We’re hoping to stage this full-length, Pulitzer Prize-winning play around this time next year and would like to gauge interest, as there are 28 characters in total! We don’t necessarily need 28 actors (it has been performed by a company of just 8 in the past) but we’d like as many different faces as possible.

The cast has 11 males, 8 females and the remaining parts could be played by either. We’re also looking for people to work within the production team in all areas – lighting, sound, costume, props, etc. – so if being behind the scenes is more your thing, we’d love to hear from you too.

Read-through and chat: Weds 1st May, 7.30pm

If you’d like to find out more, we’re having an initial read-through of the play and a chat in the Committee Room at Fintry Sports Club on Weds 1st May at 7.30pm. No need to register interest beforehand; just come along - the more the merrier.

That will be followed by two casting workshops on Mon 20th and Thurs 23rd May in the Menzies Hall.

You can find a synopsis on Wikipedia and the full 1940 version of the film on YouTube. Please take a look before we meet so you get a flavour of what’s in store.

And....

Have you got your tickets yet for our one-act play evenings?

17th, 19th & 20th April, Menzies Hall
