Roles for younger actors in 'Our Town'

Calling all FADS youth members - current and potential!

As you may have already seen/heard, we're hoping to be able to stage a production of Thornton Wilder's 'Our Town' next Spring.

It's a full-length, three-act play with a big ensemble cast that features a real mix of ages, and we need a variety of actors to be able to put the play on.

The club has had particularly strong interest from younger people over the last couple of years, with 'The Day The Stampers United', 'Macbeth', 'Tam o'Shanter' - and, of course, our annual pantos - all very well received by audiences.

There's a huge amount of young talent out there in the local communities and this is another great opportunity for anyone interested in acting, and theatre more generally, to tread the boards, alongside and supported by a raft of experienced adult members.

Workshops / casting sessions this month

We've already had a successful meeting and read-through of most of the play, and are moving on to the audition phase.

We're holding two workshop/audition sessions, on Thursday 23rd May and Monday 27th May, 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Menzies Hall, Fintry.

There's no need to pre-register and these sessions are open to everyone - young and older! - so just come along on the 23rd to find out more and have some fun!

You can find a synopsis of the play on Wikipedia and the full 1940 version of the film on YouTube.
