Remembering Liz Brown

"Forever smiling and cheery, our friend Liz Brown died very suddenly on 23rd December 2020. FADS has sadly lost a stalwart member of many years.

When Liz and Jim moved to Fintry, Jim joined the club as a performer. Liz soon realised the need for help behind the scenes and started by finding a group of friends to help with teas and refreshments at our productions. She soon moved on to being Front of House Manager and our “Ticket Lady”.

Liz will be forever remembered for her yummy Clootie Dumplings at Sunday rehearsals. Her secret recipe? She just bunged in a bowl in the microwave with not a cloot in sight! The giant casts and stage crews always raced each other to grab a piece.

Many, many returning FADS customers admitted they loved being known by our Box Office lady. She gave them personal contact, making them feel special.

On show nights, Liz was there at the door, keeping track of tickets and welcoming old and new friends. When the time came for her to retire, she made sure her organising continued, having already introduced her good friend Jane Stevenson to the Club.

I know how much pleasure Liz found in FADS, but she too was a star 🌟 for us. We will miss our good friend."
