Sleeping Beauty panto auditions!

Have you got the acting bug? FADS is thrilled to open applications for our magical 2026 pantomime Sleeping Beauty.

Whether you want to take centre stage, join our high energy dance troupe, or try something completely new, we want to hear from you. No previous experience is necessary - just bring your energy and enthusiasm.

Open auditions for Principals, Chorus and Dancers will take place at Menzies Hall, Fintry on Thursday 20th August @7pm.

• Principal roles are intended for those aged 16+ (although we may consider younger if you have experience).

• Chorus and Dancers must be of secondary school age or older.

• Primary school-aged parts will be cast at a later date - please do not attend these auditions.

CHARACTERS

KING CACTUS: Typical King character – played in a slightly light-hearted way. (Male)

QUEEN MARIGOLD: Typical Queen character – not very worldly and knows nothing about motherhood! (Female)

PRINCESS ROSE: The Sleeping Beauty – young, innocent Princess. (Principal girl)

NURSE HETTIE HARPIC: Nursemaid and nanny to the Princess – typical pantomime Dame character. (Usually male)

MUDDLES: The Palace handyman – the “Simple Simon” of the piece. (Male or female)

PRINCE ALEXIS: Young prince character. Later (after the other Principals have been asleep for 100 years) he plays his own great grandson, PRINCE ALEXANDER – a similar

 prince role. (Male or female)

FETCH & CARRIE: The Palace pages/messengers. Typical panto-style comedy twosome. (Usually male and female respectively, although both could be female.)

GOOD FAIRY LILAC: Typical good fairy character with lilac-themed costume. (Female)

BAD WITCH HAZEL: Typical evil witch character. (Female)

THE RAINBOW FAIRIES: Four assistant fairies – Red, Yellow, Green and Blue, with costumes and wands to match. Usually played by children/teenagers. Some small speaking roles. (Female)

CHORUS: Villagers, Courtiers, School Children.

DANCERS: Featured in musical numbers and Chorus.
