Your Committee for 2025/6 ...and... we're off to the National Drama Festival!

Updated: May 23

At Tuesday's AGM, the Committee that will head up FADS for the next 12 months was elected. There's a change at the top, with Margo moving into the Chair to replace Tony, who we thank for having done a terrific job over the past year. Nigel has stepped down and we welcome Siobhan and Lorna as Ordinary Members. The rest of the Committee was re-elected.

You can see exactly who's who here, and if you have any queries or comments, you can email Helen at secretary@fintrydrama.org.uk .

Then we have some exciting news. Thanks to our high scores and win at SCDA Eastern Division, 'Something In The Basement' has been selected for a place at the National Drama Festival, being held this year in Bromsgrove (just south of Birmingham).

This is an annual event, featuring plays from around Britain and beyond, with some of last year's groups hailing from as far as Gibraltar and Geneva!

"Groups are chosen to compete as a result of their success in the current festival circuit. They will all have already won awards and have been deemed by the adjudicators to be this year’s ‘Cream of amateur theatre’.  It is one of the prestige annual events in this country’s amateur theatre calendar."

Twelve one-act plays will be performed over 3 days, and judged using the standard GoDA criteria and mark sheet. On the 4th day, there's a non-competing full-length play, followed by the final awards.

When?    Thurs 31st July to Sun 3rd August (FADS will be performing on Saturday 2nd)
