Christmas 2024: The Snow Queen
The big Christmas show this year will be quite different in several ways.
The Snow Queen is the great Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale of two separated children and the race across the world by one to save the other.
It is not Panto, but it does have great comedy, beautiful storytelling and fabulous songs and music.
We also have an amazing new piece of technology which will wow the audience! (More on that at the audition.)
Show dates: Thurs 28th, Fri 29th & Sat 30th Nov / Thurs 5th, Fri 6th & Sat 7th Dec
AUDITION: Thurs 29th August, 7.30pm, Menzies Hall
Note: This audition is NOT for primary-aged children, whom we will contact separately.
Full information explaining the audition process will follow in the next week or so.
If you have any questions in the meantime, contact the director, David Smith, on WhatsApp: 07919 557061.
Proposed One Act Play for SCDA Festival 2025:
Something in the Basement by Don Nigro
A couple move into an old house, where they are troubled by the wife’s reluctance to allow her husband to touch her and by her growing insistence that there is something making bizarre noises in the basement. An obsessive struggle ensues, in a strange erotic triangle with the third member that lurks beneath them.
An unusual play, funny and terrifying, about things that go bump in the night.
Producer Gavin Patterson has had the idea of playing it with two women in a same-sex marriage, and has been given permission by the author to do so.
As the play has adult themes, the cast must be comfortable and prepared to embrace intimate situations.
AUDITION: Thursday 22nd August, 7.30pm in the Green Room, Menzies Hall.
There's no need to pre-register your interest for this play, just come along on the evening.
