Remembering our heroes

Tickets are on sale now for the FADS production of 'Journey's End', directed by Jonny North and produced by Kevin Boland.

This well-known play is set in March 1918, in a dug-out in a British trench near St Quentin, France. It's the story of the relationships that develop between five army officers over four days, immediately prior to a major battle.

There are many moments of humour in the play, particularly at the beginning, that serve to intensify the horrors the men are experiencing. The courage of these characters poignantly illustrates just how the war impacted on and wasted a whole generation of young men.

It's fitting that we’re performing this powerful and moving play in 2018, the centenary year of the end of the First World War, in memory of all those who died.

Journey's End will be staged at 'The Studio', (Glenside Farm, Nr. Balfron) on four nights, from Wednesday 26th to Saturday 29th September, with a matinee on the 29th.

The evening performances will begin with some pre-show entertainment at 7:00pm sharp (3:30 for the matinee), to set the mood for the period, and there is plenty of on-site parking.

Tickets are available online and from the usual places: Fintry Sports Club, Balfron Library and Killearn Pharmacy.
