Charity presentation next weekend

Those of you who came to see 'Journey's End' last month will know that we were collecting for three veterans charities: Help for Heroes, Erskine and Poppy Scotland. Now that everyone's kind donations have been counted, Jonny North will be presenting the charities with their cheques. The presentation will take place at 11am, on Saturday 27th October, at Balfron War memorial. All FADS members, friends and supporters are very welcome to come along and be a part of this last step in the journey of an unforgettable production.

Programme catalogued for posterity!

Following on from the triumphant performances of ‘Journey’s End’, the latest news is that R.C. Sherriff’s biographer, Roland Wales, was super-impressed with the programme. So impressed that he offered the copy we sent him to the Surrey History Centre, which holds the R.C. Sherriff papers and those of the East Surrey Regiment, and they have said they would like to add it to their collections! So there we go: a little piece of FADS is now held in Woking :)

Save the date for the panto!

It’s panto season again – oh yes it is! - and rehearsals are well underway in Fintry for this year’s production, ‘Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs’, an in-house original, written by FADS members, Ian Kidd and Sarah Walker. Times are tough in the Kingdom of Fintry. Everyone in the village seems to be in hock to the lupine local moneylender, the forest fairy’s lost her magic powers and the outlandish village barmaid’s numpty grandson has a constant stream of sketchy toilets to clean. But there’s good news: Prince John is about to turn 21 and, to raise the spirits of his subjects, he’s holding a big party and a singing contest with a huge cash prize, which will go to the villager that
